Reaching out to a Community of Support

Welcome to Mildred’s Carelines page! Thank you for coming to support Mildred in her journey of recovery. Here you can:

Hello friends, family, and kind-hearted visitors,

My name is Mildred, and I’m 66 years old and happily retired. After serving the Calcasieu Parish School Board for 20 years, I’ve continued dedicating my life to caring for others — from the students, to the grandkids, and now great-grandkids I’ve helped raise for the past 26 years.

Recently, I was diagnosed with pleomorphic sarcoma — a rare and aggressive cancer. As part of my treatment plan, I will need to travel from my home in Lake Charles to Baton Rouge for three weeks of daily radiation. After that, I’ll undergo surgery once the tumor has been shrunk.

This diagnosis has brought many changes, but one thing that hasn’t changed is my will to fight not just for me, but for those who call me Momo. They need me strong, and I intend to be. I may be older, but I am not frail. I am standing tall with faith, grit, and love for my family.

I’m not seeking handouts or sympathy. I’m simply asking for support to help cover the practical costs of treatment and travel gas, lodging, meals, and medical expenses. Any amount, no matter how small, will go directly to these needs.

Your prayers mean just as much to me as your donations. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. If you can’t give, I’d be grateful if you shared my page or sent a prayer my way.

With love and gratitude, Mildred
